Well as the wheels kept turning, I googled Bill Gates and found that he makes around $234,000 an hour. Diggin deeper in the article, there were some interesting points made. If Gates stacked his total estimated worth $35 Billion in one dollar bills under a king sized mattress, he would need a parachute to fall outta bed. A distance of 9.6 kilometers which translates to 5.9 miles. WOW at that! Over the course of a good nights sleep he wakes up $3.5 million wealthier than he went to sleep. Now how many of us can say we wake up better off than we went to bed (financially that is)?
The Mayor of New York was 17th on the list and Im not talkin about Jay -Z, but Michael Bloomberg at $16 billion. He donates around 800K to charities every year. I have no idea at all why he wanted to be the head worm in the Big Apple, but some folks have "dreams". Goin further down the Forbes list, the youngest in the top 25 was Michael Dell founder of Dell computers age 44, is worth $12.3 billion. I refuse to buy another "Fail" computer as long as I'm black and thats gonna be a long time. Other notables on the list were: Paul Allen (co-founder of Microsoft) (#32), Philip Knight of Nike at (#52), Record and Film executive David Geffen (#110), News, Inc Rupert Murdoch (#132), Charles Schwabb (#164), Apple computers Steve Jobs (#178), Filmmakers George Lucas and Steven Spielberg (#205), Polo Founder Ralph Lauren (#224), and Media Personality and talk show host Oprah Winfrey (#234) with an estimated worth of $2.7 billion. Winfrey is the only African American Female in the top 250, and ranked above Virgin Records Sir Richard Bronson, Dallas Maverick team owner Mark Cuban, and Real estate mogul Donald Trump...all billionaires.
This fact made me look deeper and by catagories, and found some other interesting things. Beyonce Knowles Carter was number 1 on this list of celebrities under 30 at 90 million earned from music, movies, and endorsements...between June of 2008 and June of 2009. LeBron James was third at 40 million. Other notables on the celebrities list were, Tiger Woods, Kobe Bryant, and as Forbes put it "The last true movie star Will Smith who brought in a cool $45 million of his two box office bangers Hancock and Seven Pounds (combined box office earnings were a whopping $795 million bucks).Oh and I almost forgot...my man Jay-Z topped the Hip Hop list with an earnings estimate of $35 million and Lil Wayne at $19 milli a milli a milli....
My question...What recession?
From the mind of an Insomniaq, rubbin a dime and a nickel together really hard...still no dollar
