Is this dude the future of Hip Hop? Is he the Savior that folks are lookin for since Nasir proclaimed that "Hip Hop is Dead"? Wasnt this guy on DeGrassi or something wack like that? There are a milli and one cats out here that got far better skill, but far less shine, and Im wondering what did he do/say/promise to Lil Wayne to get on like that, and how his hype blow like it did. This dude has singles (that have blown up) from a mixtape (probably gonna get em redone for his album) and JUST signed a deal with Young Money/Cash Money. This dude is on the radio EVERY 30 minutes, either Every Girl, Best I Ever Had, and Successful are flooding the airwaves...
Speaking of two of the last three, what was up with the performance of Every Girl at the BET (Coon Television) Awards? I know the hook says, "I wish I could fuck every girl in the world" (suck for the radio edit), and I'm almost embarrassed to say thats cool cause there are some girls in the world that I would just have to turn down for numerous reasons. But these dumbasses Drake and Wayne are on stage singing these lyrics and there are LITTLE GIRLS on the stage with them...and they know the song better than the artist! WOW! Then a few days later lost in the coverage of the death of Michael Jackson this nigga makes an apology for the performance. WHO ARE YOU APOLOGIZING TO AND WHY? The deed had been done, the show was over and wasnt nothing but BET's ridiculous month long replay gonna even bring it back up. Do you think the parents of the lil girls on the stage made some noise about it? Surely someone at BET had to sign off on the show, and clearly knew what was being said and being done, but let that shit slide anyways. Then to top it off Wayne's own daughter was in the audience, what that tell you bout niggaz? Wasnt his baby momma there anyway promoting her new Stupidity show with T.I.'s ol' lady? If that woulda been me and my momma was there you could believe she woulda yanked my ass off that stage and Im grown (like really grown)...
Then this nigga puts out a video for Best I Ever Had (directed by the multi-talented [/sarcasm] Kanye West) and from what I have heard about the thing, makes me not wanna even watch it. Ima have to YouTube the shit, cause I may have to retract what I have heard other folks say about it.... In other words I heard the shit was full of light skinned women with big titties and the dark skinned sisters of the world are up in arms for that fact alone (even though they aint mad cause this nigga got lil girls on stage whilst performing lewd lyrics)..being the H.V.H.i.C really is not the title to want so let that shit go, you better be glad you aint in the video if its really that wack...even though the niggaz buzz is just that big he can spin that in his favor (i.e. BLAME KANYE)
Anyway...if this dude is the Savior of all hip hop, I hope there is a backup plan in the wings. Or maybe we can press the pause button and insert someone who can.
